U11 Boys Blue Division Champs

Congratulations to the New River United U11 Boys Blue team for winning the Division Championship this past weekend in the Charlotte United Julian Brown Memorial Cup. They played in the Champion Division, which was the 2nd out of 4 divisions for U11 boys. They advanced from pool play in an undefeated three-game run, and won 4-1 in the Championship match over Coastal Georgia 99 Gold, a very talented team out of Savannah, GA. Excellent job boys!

U12 Girls Wachovia Sixes Tournament Champions

Congratulations to the New River United U12 Girls Blue team for their outstanding performance in the Wachovia Sixes Tournament on March 6, 2010. The girls went undefeated at the tournament, winning all four of their games to take home the Championship title. Great job, ladies!

U12 Boys Classic - BISL Division V Indoor Champs

Congratulations to New River United's U12 Boys Classic team! The boys have won the Blacksburg Indoor Soccer League (BISL) championship with an exciting 3-2 victory over the Radford Rivercats.

Logan Hull, Director of Development

New River United (NRU) is pleased to announce the addition of Ms. Logan Hull, Director of Development. Logan will coordinate marketing and business development, as well as all fund raising and community outreach for New River United. Logan played club soccer for the prestigious Colorado Rush Soccer Club, winning several State, Regional, and National Championships with that group, and she was heavily involved in the Olympic Development program, spending two years as a member of the youth National Team. She played her college career at Clemson University, where she led the team as Captain to the Elite 8 in 2007. Logan brings 2 years of experience in developing the fund raising and marketing side of club soccer for the Clemson Anderson Soccer Alliance, Clemson, SC. With the addition of Logan, NRU continues our commitment to provide the best opportunities for recreational and competitive soccer in southwest Virginia.

NRUSA WINS SKYLINE CHAMPIONSHIP!

New River United finished the Fall 2009 travel soccer season in style winning the Skyline League Club Championship!

The Club Championship is awarded seasonally to the club who garners the most points throughout the entire league. It is the grandest prize of the Skyline Club Soccer League.

New River United has 17 soccer teams in its travel program, in age groups ranging from U11-U18. Over 250 players from the New River Valley and beyond play on these teams.

The Skyline League (https://www.socaspot.org/skyline/skyline_league.php) has 16 clubs. 6 of these clubs, have teams in both premier and classic divisions (Central Virginia United, Shenandoah Valley United, Roanoke Star, SOCA, NRUSA, Augusta Futbol Club). Clubs earn points based on team finishes in the various divisions, U11 - U18, boys and girls.

This is New River United's second season in the Skyline league. We made the jump to the Skyline from the Blue Ridge Classic League (BRCL) in spring 2009 in order to receive better overall competition for its various teams.
