for the position of Director of Goalkeeping, Recreation and Academy. New River United is a competitive club with over 1500
members serving all levels of youth player from recreational to premier in the
New River Valley. Primary
responsibilities involve the organization and administration of the
recreational and academy programs currently at the club as well as goalkeeper
training for travel and premier levels.
This full-time salaried position would include secondary
responsibilities based upon experience, qualifications, interests of the candidate,
as well as overall club needs determined by the Technical Director.
Qualifications include: Previous playing and goalkeeper/youth

Winter Futsal Classic
The club had a thrilling weekend at the Winter Futsal Classic at TSP; there were exciting moments from all of our divisions, U9 through U18. To begin, our academy group had 4 grueling matches, facing not only each other, but a fierce Christiansburg side as well. Team 2 put together a valiant effort, led by Martin Forsman, to reach the final against the strong Red Devils. In the end the devils proved too strong, taking the first title of the tournament. The weekend of the middle group(U11/U12) could best be described as a roller coaster; Team 1 bolted out of the gates, with Daniel Salom and Addison Flack leading the way, beating their opponents in strong fashion. Weekend Update- Happy Thanksgiving!
The club had a fantastic showing at the Richmond Strikers
Capital Fall Classic last weekend.
Playing against some of the best competition in the state of Virginia,
all of our teams showed extremely well and represented NRU with style. Although not all of our teams ended up going
through to the semi-finals and finals, all of them showed that this club
continues to develop both players and teams!
We had Academy teams playing in Richmond as well for their
first tournament experience. It was
great to have all of our players see what stiff competition is like, and all of
our players were up for the challenge.

Players of the Week 11/6/11
Congrats to Morgan Evans and Lucas Tuosto for being named this week’s Players of the Week! Morgan scored 2 goals giving her team the win and the first place finish for the second year in a row. Lucas has had a fantastic season and continued the trend over the weekend scoring his team’s equalizer in a back and forth match. Congratulations to the both of them!

Weekend Update 11/6/11
This weekend wrapped up league play for a majority of our teams. Once again, our players had great seasons in both the BRSL and the Skyline leagues. Success didn’t end there as most of our teams had fantastic results in mid season tournaments all over the state of Virginia. Great job to all of the players, coaches, parents and volunteers that continue to make our seasons a success!

Players of the Week 10/30/11
Congratulations to Eli Nachlas and Kim Shaver for being named this week’s Players of the Week. Eli was named man of the match for his outstanding performance including his 2 brilliant goals over the weekend to help secure the victory for the U11 Boys BRSL team. He opened the scoring for his team on a fantastic 1 on 1 finish after making a magic run. Later in the match he drove home the goal that sealed the match from distance. Great job Eli!
