Congratulations to Eli Nachlas and Kim Shaver for being named this week’s Players of the Week. Eli was named man of the match for his outstanding performance including his 2 brilliant goals over the weekend to help secure the victory for the U11 Boys BRSL team. He opened the scoring for his team on a fantastic 1 on 1 finish after making a magic run. Later in the match he drove home the goal that sealed the match from distance. Great job Eli! Dancing to music on her ipod eager to get the game started, it was if Kim Shaver knew what kind of performance she was about to offer her team. Right off the whistle, Kim was quickly shifting the attack through her tight touches on the ball and precise passing. And, though she is known to score from distances of 30-40 yards out with her specialized driven ball--that always seems to hit the mark, the two goals from distance she scored Saturday evening against Salem were still remarkable. Both goals were scored 25+ yards out. One was a free kick that she smacked over the top of the wall in the near post's upper corner. The other came in the run of play and was her signature style goal. Kim's attitude before and throughout the match kept the team's focus on the task at hand, and, thus, led to a successful match for the whole team. Great Job, Kim. Congrats to both of them! |
